PICO Step-by-Step Guides 

Charge

  • Connect smaller end of charging cable to interface side of charging case and other end to power adapter. Charge for 7 hours for first time. Recharging should take about 3 hours and can be used for 12 -18 hours, depending on hearing aid use.

  • Three blue lights indicate full charge - for ‘Left’ and ‘Right’ hearing aids and ‘Case’

  • Place clean hearing aids inside case - Left (blue tip) in the ‘Left’ charging port, Right (red tip) on  ‘Right’ charging port.

  • Hold hearing aids by the body to remove from charger and not by the eartube.

  • Low battery indicator: Beeps from hearing aid

Wear

  • Place hearing aid body behind ear with one hand -  the eartube will be in front of ear

  • Use other hand to gently position eartip into earcanal so that eartube lies flat on skin

  • Slide the hearing aid slightly up or down for a comfortable fit

  • You can also pull top of ear to open up earcanal to help position eartip

  • Check for a snug fit - select a smaller eartip if it feels too tight, or larger if it feels loose

  • Place curved retention wire against bowl of ear

  • If you wear glasses, place hearing aid between stem of glasses and ear

Turn on/off, change settings and volume

  • Turn On: Press and hold bottom of switch for 3 seconds

  • Turn Off: Pressing and holding again will turn it off

  • To avoid whistling sound (feedback), be careful not to place your finger in front of the microphones

  • Press and hold top of switch to go through different settings 

  1. Low volume, Low noise: Indoor, daily home activities, one-on-one conversations - ‘Quiet’

  2. Mid volume, Mid noise: Indoor group conversations, restaurants - ‘Group’ (Default)

  3. High volume, High noise: Outdoor situations such as traffic, outdoor events - ‘Noisy’

  4.  High volume, No/Low noise: Listening to music when there is low background noise - ‘TV’

  5. Telecoil: For use with phones and in places with hearing loops - ‘Phone’

  • Male voice prompts: Quiet (1), Group (2), Noisy (3), TV (4), Phone (5)  

  • Raise Volume: Press and quickly release top of switch Lower Volume: Press bottom of switch

  • Beeps indicate change in volume. Female voice prompts: Maximum and Minimum volumes

Select Eartip

  • Hold (not pinch) end of eartube closest to eartip - close to blue/red marking

  • With other hand, hold eartip between your forefinger and thumb and gently twist off

  • Take new eartip and twist onto threaded tip of eartube

  • Tug it slightly to ensure it does not come off

Remove, Clean, Store after each use

  • Press and hold bottom of switch for a few seconds to turn off

  • Remove by holding eartube near earcanal and gently pulling eartip out

  • Remove hearing aid body from behind ear

  • Brush away earwax debris on outside with multifunctional brush

  • Gently wipe all surfaces with cleaning cloth

  • Store in charging case - keep lid open if not charging. Keep away from young children and pets

Change Eartube

  • Use open end of multifunctional brush to loosen eartube

  • Slide over eartube and push into twist and lock eartube end. 

  • Brush part will be facing upward.

  • Rotate anti-clockwise for about 4 turns until tube is loose to remove

  • Place new eartube end (opposite end from retention wire) on hearing aid open end

  • Slide in connector base of brush and turn clockwise about 4 or more times to firmly attach eartube  to hearing aid

  • Red line of eartube should be facing up

  • Firmly attach eartip

Wear earplugs in loud places

  • See FDA Caution that hearing aids do not provide hearing protection and earplugs should be worn in loud places

  • Curve right hand around back of head to pull left ear up and back

  • Use left hand to gently slide earplug into ear canal - rock plug back and forth to help

  • Push into place with finger on left hand

  • Repeat with opposite hands for right ear
